Yes. Halo Tribrid is designed to work across all skin types and tones. Its wavelengths are separately controlled, and the device adjusts its energy to your skin in real time, which gives your provider the precision to treat deeper skin tones safely. Your provider will still assess your skin individually and set the treatment accordingly, which is one more reason the consultation matters.

Halo® Tribrid™ Delivers Complete Skin Renewal
Halo Tribrid is a triple-wavelength laser resurfacing treatment that renews your skin at three levels within a single session. Rather than choosing between surface-level concerns and a deeper collagen treatment, this technology delivers three separately controlled laser wavelengths through a single handpiece, reaching everything from the outermost layer to the deeper dermis, where lasting change can take effect over time.
One Laser, Three Wavelengths
-
Each wavelength in Halo Tribrid does a specific job:
Surface resurfacing: The 2940nm ablative wavelength gently removes damaged surface cells at a controlled, adjustable depth. This refines rough texture and softens the look of surface imperfections while stimulating faster cell turnover underneath. -
Pigment and brightness: The 1927nm nonablative wavelength targets surface-level discoloration concerns, lifting sun spots and rebalancing skin tone to bring back clarity and glow.
-
Deeper remodeling: A 1470nm nonablative wavelength reaches into the deeper dermis to remodel skin over time, producing a gradual firming and smoothing effect for up to 90 days following your treatment.
The device also monitors your skin's temperature in real time and adjusts its energy output in order to prevent over-treatment of the area and promote more even coverage.

Am I a Candidate for Halo® Tribrid™?
Most healthy adults bothered by sun damage, uneven texture, pigmentation or early signs of aging make good candidates for Halo Tribrid. Its adjustable, multi-depth approach allows our providers to carefully tailor treatment parameters to match your skin rather than trying to make a fixed setting work for everyone.
You may be a strong fit if you’re dealing with any of the following:
- Sun spots, dark spots or discoloration from cumulative UV exposure
- Fine lines, wrinkles or early textural changes
- Enlarged pores or a generally rough, dull surface
- The appearance of certain acne scars or other scarring
- A desire to refresh skin beyond the face, including the neck, chest or hands
There are situations where a different approach makes more sense. Halo Tribrid is generally not recommended during pregnancy, over active skin infections in the treatment area or alongside certain photosensitizing medications. Lifestyle habits factor in as well. Because sun exposure is what quietly undoes this kind of work, the strongest candidates are those willing to commit to consistent sunscreen afterward and able to set aside a few low-key days for their skin to settle.
The only reliable way to know whether this treatment suits your skin is a professional evaluation. During a free consultation at Marcos Medical, your provider reviews your skin, your health history and your goals before recommending anything.

Can I Combine Halo® Tribrid™ With Other Treatments?
Yes. For many patients, pairing Halo Tribrid with a complementary treatment produces a more complete result than resurfacing alone, and Marcos Medical offers several services that work well alongside it.
Halo Tribrid and broadband light: One of the most popular and effective pairings is BBL HEROic, our Sciton broadband light treatment. BBL HERO can address deeper pigment while also promoting surface-level improvements and redness across broad treatment areas. Used together, the two address tone and texture from complementary angles: BBL is full surface, while Halo Tribrid delivers fractional coverage.
Injectables are another natural complement. Laser resurfacing improves skin health and integrity, but it doesn’t address the dynamic wrinkles caused by muscle movement or the volume loss that comes with age. Treatments like Botox and dermal fillers handle those concerns, so combining them with Halo Tribrid lets you smooth expression lines and restore fullness while texture improves.
Moxi can keep pigment and glow in check with minimal downtime for patients who prefer a lighter-touch maintenance option between resurfacing sessions. It’s also well-suited to younger patients looking to prevent early signs of aging. Whether a combination approach makes sense for you comes down to your goals, lifestyle and your skin, which is exactly what your consultation is designed to cover.

What Is Halo® Tribrid™ Treatment Like?
A Halo Tribrid session is a straightforward in-office appointment. It all starts with a consultation, and we build your personalized plan around what we find.
Our aesthetics team uses VISIA Skin Analysis to capture a clear picture of your skin’s current condition, including pigment and texture you can’t always catch with the naked eye. That baseline gives us the foundation for a targeted treatment, while your downtime preferences and lifestyle factors shape treatment parameters.
During your actual treatment session, the handpiece passes over the treatment area in smooth, even strokes. The device generates a significant amount of heat, which can be uncomfortable. We mitigate this with topical numbing (pronox) and a new medication called journavx. The treatment itself typically takes between 15 and 30 minutes.
Afterward, expect your skin to feel warm and look flushed, similar to a sunburn, for the first day or two. Swelling will peak between days two and five. Over the next several days, you may notice a fine, sandpaper-like texture or tiny dark specks as treated cells rise to the surface and slough off. This is a normal part of the healing process, and it clears to reveal fresher skin beneath. Many patients are comfortable returning to their routine within a few days. Healing can take up to 2 weeks and the skin is very sensitive for a few weeks afterward.

Why Choose Marcos Medical for Halo® Tribrid™ Treatment?
Our team, including Sara Mohamed, PA-C, and Medical Aesthetician & Laser Provider Lexi Raglin, evaluates your skin with VISIA Skin Analysis before recommending a treatment plan, so your protocol is built on data rather than guesswork. We also offer the full Sciton laser lineup, which lets your provider match you to the right device instead of steering every patient toward the same machine.
More than 1,000 positive reviews point back to the same themes again and again: attentive providers, careful treatment and a focus on whole-person wellness that reaches well beyond a single appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions About Halo® Tribrid™
Because the treatment works partly by prompting your skin to rebuild collagen over time, results continue to develop for weeks after your session and can last many months. Longevity depends on your skin, your age and how well you protect against sun exposure afterward. Most patients maintain their results with periodic treatments, often one to two per year, plus daily sunscreen.
The earlier Halo combines two wavelengths, and Moxi uses a single nonablative wavelength for lighter maintenance and prejuvenation. Halo Tribrid adds a third, deeper wavelength to the mix, letting one handpiece treat the surface, the pigment layer and the deeper dermis in the same session. In practice, that means it can address a broader range of concerns at once.
As a treatment that runs fairly hot, Halo Tribrid can be quite uncomfortable for patients who do not receive numbing medication.
Depending on the nature of your work, you may be able to return within a week, but full healing typically takes 10-14 days. Expect redness, a sunburn sensation, warmth and swelling in the early days of recovery. Your provider will give you specific guidance based on the depth of your treatment.
